Every single morning I start my day out by writing in a notebook what I am grateful for. Why? Because there is so much screwed up with the world today that you have to remind yourself there is good. When you do that, when you start your day off focusing on the good things in your life, taking the time to reflect on the positives instead of the negatives, you start finding more positives than negatives. You sleep better, you are kinder and have more compassion, and its crazy but it’s even been shown people who are grateful have stronger immune systems.
Have you ever heard of the Law of Attraction? It’s basically the name given to the maxim “Like attracts Like” where the philosophy’s used to sum up the idea that by focusing on the positive or the negative thoughts a person brings positive or negative experiences in their life. I totally believe in this. If you personally know me you know I try to not get bogged down with the negative experiences. That doesn’t mean I don’t, it just means that I make a conscious effort to keep my focus on the positive.
Anyway, writing in a gratitude journal is just another way I practice Law of Attraction and find happiness and the good in my life. Everyone has felt gratitude at some point in their life so I’m not going to keep going on and on about what it is or why you should do it. Right now I’m just going to give you a list of my morning gratitude’s.
I am grateful for my husband who has so much love and patience with me and lets me freely practice any lifestyle I want without judgement even if it means him having to listen to my alarm go off three times before 5am or me sneak attacking him with my essential oils when he mentions an ailment.
I am grateful for every single one of my children, including step children because daily they make me smile and give me a reason to want to be a better person.
I am so very grateful for my extended family for being my support system even when they don’t know that is what they are doing for me.
I am so very grateful for the coffee I brew every morning because it allows me to wake up and enjoy all that I am grateful for and it taste so good.
I am grateful for technology that has allowed me to meet so many wonderful people who have effected my life in a positive way.
I am grateful for my pets, my cats and dogs because they show me unconditional love (well my dogs anyway) and give me and the hubby so much joy to watch.
I am grateful for the job I will be sitting at in two hours because it provides for my family, it challenges me in so many ways and makes me grow as a person and it is a genuinely wonderful company to work for.
I am grateful for the people who have come into my life.
I am grateful the company I am partnered with as a network marketer and the amazing and pure essential oils they provide me. The company not only allows me to choose safe and natural alternatives in my every day life but is giving me a chance to help support my family in ways other than a daily 9-5.
I am grateful to be sitting at my kitchen table right now as the sky lights up and dark becomes light because that means I have made it to another day.
I am grateful for the universe and the way it listens to what I have to say.
I am grateful for every single struggle I’ve endured in this life because it has shaped me and made me the person I am today.
I am grateful for life.
Every single day I sit down and start listing what I am grateful for. Some days the list is longer and some days it is shorter. Some days I really have to work hard to find the good but it’s always there. Don’t take what you have for granted. Appreciate it now. If you struggle with many bad days and being negative try this. It helps me so much .
Thanks for reading.
