Monday morning coffee

I love you more than coffee… but not before coffee.  That is what my mug says today as I sit here sipping my early morning Dunkin Donuts Hazelnut flavored coffee.    I often wonder why the coffee I make at home doesn’t taste as bold and flavorful as the coffee you buy say at the store front or in my case every morning at the gas station next door to work.  Am I not using enough coffee grounds, is my coffee maker just jacked up so it taste like shit?

Anyway, enough about coffee.  I am just going to sit here and sip this liquid gold and wake my butt up while getting this writing in.

Mondays! I am a fan of Mondays for so many reasons.   Unlike most people I have to say I’m pretty thankful for liking my job.  It gives me something to look forward to on Monday mornings.  Does it never piss me off? Of course it does.  Even those I love most piss me off sometimes more than not but that doesn’t make me love it or them anymore.

I look forward to a new start to the week  Mondays I have a little bit of work piled up that I get to play catch up with from the weekend and that makes my day fly by.   On Mondays I can usually get my week set up for success if I just go into it with the right attitude.

So in the spirit of starting things off with the right attitude I’m going to start with gratitude.  Today I am thankful for a job I love with people I can stand. (Most you can say I probably even like.)  I am thankful that I get the chance to take my son to football practice in a matter of minutes because that means eventually I’ll be that mom back in the stands cheering him on at games and there was nothing I loved better than to do that.  I am thankful for the sun that is trying to peek from behind the clouds today because who doesn’t need a little sunshine in their lives especially on a Monday.  I am thankful for the great weekend I just had.  For many reasons.  If you are one of those reasons, you know it! 🙂  And lastly I am grateful that my husband stumbled across a flute sitting at the flea market last night that I was able to snatch up.  I played for hours yesterday reacquiring myself with it.  It definitely took a while to remember how to read the music but eventually we sounded strong.

My time is up for now. Have to take the boy to practice.  I can’t wait to get some creative writing in later though! I hope you all have a great day!
